OutFIGHT of the Day: how to take your look from day to night?
If there’s one thing that I truly have fun doing, it’s getting ready to go out at night. I like to put on some loud music and start sipping on something while I do my makeup and of course, go through the ordeal that is getting my outfit just right.
And so last week I had this big party sponsored by Jack Daniel’s, but time was short and I would have to figure out a way to take my look from day to night. I touched up my makeup, put up my hair, put on my brightest red lipstick and started the OutFIGHT. As it turns out, all that was left from my day look was the shoes, but I liked how it turned out! Let’s go!
I had had a full day of meetings and events, one of those days that don’t give us a breather but that you just gotta suck it up and look good. I had worn a Guess dress that I love, but by the time night had fallen I was sick of this look and wanted to do something with it.
Either way, I love the dress’s structured shoulders, so I figured I’d keep it on and add things to it. I grabbed my leather circle skirt from AlixShop and threw it on over the dress. In theory this worked well, but in practice not so much. Turns out the white details on the dress are salient and made of thick material, which gave the impression of a very thick waist with the skirt over them. Not flattering.
So I said fuckit to the dress and decided to wear the skirt with a top, like normal people do. hahaha! Since it was a chilly day out, I picked out the long sleeved crop top from Wear Ever. I really liked the green plaid with the black leather, but wasn’t very happy with everything loose – any shape my body has got completely lost!
But no worries. I happen to have a second black leather skirt, the fringed one from H&M that’s much more fitted. Problem solved and I love it, can ya tell? haha!
To take advantage of the last few days of the Brazilian winter, I threw on my favorite faux-fur vest from Bebe over everything. Perfect!
I finished everything off with my Fendi bucket bag, wood watch that I got as a gift from Jord (so cool!), Asos earrings and a statement ring from Arezzo. You can see everything up close in the gallery below:
My day-to-night look came out like this:
WearEver crop top
Bebe faux-fur vest
Fendi bucket bag
Jord wood watch
Rouge Artiste Intense lipstick by Make Up For Ever in Moulin Rouge
And I had SO much fun with those fringes! hahaha!
So, what did you guys think? Did you like how the outfit came together? What would you have done differently?
