OutFIGHT of the Day: Yes, this dress is NEOPRENE!

final

I recently got a NEOPRENE (!!!) dress from Colcci as a gift and it was one of those things that I opened and literally had to put on right away. Colorful, full of tulle cutouts and actually made from deep-sea diving material, this dress is NOT kidding. Plus, the print is absolutely glorious and full of delicious colors, so from the minute I had it on I started dreaming of all the possibilities of accessories that could go with it. And of course that made for quite the OutFIGHT!

So neoprene turns out to be pretty glorious material for a dress. Not only does it look good, it feels incredible and I never want to take it off!

I started out with the feet – blue and yellow platforms from Carmen Steffens with a hint of leopard – which gave me all the things I love: lots of colors and a nice mix of prints. And I would’ve kept it if it wasn’t for the platforms. This dress is kinda longish so the length + platforms made me feel like an old lady.

Still with the yellow in mind I decided to try on my Ralph Lauren sandals and loved it, but of course when I went to pick these out I saw a hot pink pair and couldn’t move on without trying those too!

And so I did and loved it! The Giseli Dias sandals are all fringy and awesome, and the pink is a very bright POP of color that I can’t do without.

To keep the fun going, I decided to go with a headpiece because, you know, why not? I chose a velvet turban from Cris Meirelles and all of a sudden, we have a 21st Century Carmen Miranda! hahaha!

To finish everything off I chose a maxi earring from H&M and a clutch from American Apparel, both Klein blue, to top off the color combo. I added a bunch of rings and that’s it! The details are in the gallery below:

The final look came out like this:

OutFIGHT of the Day: the world’s most beautiful midi skirt

final-2

Think of the world’s most incredible skirt. Seriously, most beautiful skirt ever. That’s what today’s OutFIGHT is about – giving this skirt from Pop Up Store the credit it deserves.

I bought it a few weeks ago at Pop Up Store and I’ve been waiting for the perfect opportunity to wear it, but then, life’s too short to hold off on wearing something when we want to, right? So let’s do this.

I wanted something light, maybe even an all-white look like I’ve done around here before. I put on a beige top and tucked it in and was left with a blah look and lots of fabric tucked into my skirt, LOL.

I changed into a black crop top which is actually a bikini top from Salinas that I love but that got me very very naked. Let’s cover this up.

Black polka dotted shirt from H&M was perfect in theory, but not so much in practice. I’m rarely put off by mixing patterns or textures, but here it was just too much.

Sometime in the middle of the whole thing I decided to put on a nice big pair of heels because I felt like a little person in this midi skirt, and chose my black pumps from Aldo which automatically added at least 6 inches to my stature. Simultaneously, I changed the black shirt into a chambray one and now we’re heading in the right direction! The only thing I don’t like is how the black top underneath is closed at the neck, yet skin is showing at the belly.

I changed the top into one from Urban Outfitters with a deep V cut and I could see the difference immediately! Notice how the v-neck + open shirt create an illusion of length. Where’s that 5’3” girl now, huh!? 😜

And since we’re doing tricks to look taller, why not go all the way? I changed my black pumps into nude ones, also from Aldo, and just like that I got Gisele stems. Legs for days!

I finished everything off with a multi-patterned clutch from Aldo, Vivara bracelet (which is actually a necklace), a bunch of rings and a pendulum necklace from Aldo. All the details are in the gallery below:

The final look came out like this:

I’m wearing:

Levi’s shirt
Aldo shoes
Aldo bag

So how did you like this OutFIGHT? Isn’t this skirt absolutely incredible?!  😍 How would you wear it?

OutFIGHT of the Day: wearing two bags at once (!!!)

detalhes

Some time ago I wrote about a street style trend that had really gotten people talking: wearing two bags at once. I found the idea stylish if not off and spent the entire time that I was writing the post trying to figure out how I could simultaneously incorporate two bags in one look and, not surprisingly, didn’t find a solution. It’s hard to do and needs to be really thought out, right? Actually, no.

Turns out that today’s OutFIGHT had a look with two bags as a result and that happened completely accidentally as a result of my utter indecisiveness, LOL. Turns out that right around that time when I’m supposed to decide what bag to wear I simply couldn’t, so I decided to wear ’em both. Fuck it.

So yeah. Let’s see how that happened:

It all started because I absolutely had to wear my leopard print circle skirt from H&M that I’d bought on my last trip to the States and hadn’t worn yet. So off I went trying it on with whatever printed top I could find (you guys know I LOVE mixing prints) and obviously failing hard. NOT GOOD – I look like a color-blind injured leopard! This is a great example of what NOT to do when trying to mix prints: two similar prints in similar sizes in totally different color pallets = shit. 💩 Go instead for one large print with one small, both in similar colors.

Just like this! In fact, leopard print + stripes (or flowers + stripes, for that matter) is basically error-free nation when it comes to mixing prints.

I decided that my nearly-black lipstick gave me a free-pass to go all rock ‘n roll on your asses, so I put on my studded boots from Schutz and sure, I might be acting all tough but I sure as hell don’t look good. Hahaha. Too much going on here, wouldn’t you agree?

I accepted that maybe I’m not such a hard-ass after all and put on a nice, chill pair os sneakers and now we’re talking! I love skirts or dresses with sneakers – it’s very casual while still keeping it stylish.

And so came the critical moment of this OutFIGHT: which bag to wear? I considered wearing the little yellow one from Lancel, but then I liked the ideia of wearing the other little yellow one from 284. What to do!? Wear ’em both! Life’s too short to make such stupid choices!

I decided to keep the double-baggage the focus of this outfit and therefore didn’t put on any accessories at all, which is a first for me. Here are the details of the look:

The outfit came out like this:

I’m wearing:
H&M skirt
Urban Outfitters top
Lancer and 284 bags
Puma sneakers
Dark Side lipstick by MAC
